Christmas is going to ruin all my hard work and I’m going to be crying come January
No, you’re wrong!
Think about it, over Christmas there’s probably a total of 8 days that you’re going to be out of your usual routine. So out of all the other days in December what’s going to happen? Are you going to let all those other days run away and let your usual routine go out the window? there’s no need for it.
Keep it simple keep it sustainable in December. What would I do?
-keep yourself moving. Activity is key. Get out into the fresh air, Get out into nature, clear your head and get some daylight
-Hydration
-Make sure you EAT and fuel yourself. Don’t go long periods without food
-Incorporate your treats
-Stop feeling guilty. REST RECOVER. Take each day as it comes and do what you normally would do. STOP OVERTHINKING IT.
When January comes
Don’t do what you always might have done and go on a mad restrictive diet, cut food groups out and try to do lots of cardio. SIMPLY RESET. Take it day by day, week by week. Don’t try to do everything at once or in one day. Make it as easy as you can for yourself. When it’s time to go back into routine start by ticking one thing off your list every day. for example, you might first start by drinking enough water, then move on to make sure you’re eating enough protein. then the next day have a look at your steps, do you have a step target? then after that, you might try to go back to the gym or your classes etc.
